A lash extension treatment involves applying individual synthetic lashes onto each natural eyelash to add extra length and volume.

They’re perfect for holidays, a big event or just perfect lashes for every day.

It takes around an hour and a half for a full set to be applied, it’s a very relaxing treatment and a lot of people fall asleep whilst they’re being applied.

So plan your time wisely and catch up on some Zzzs at the same time.

Patch testing for adhesive cannot provide a 100% conclusive result, this is because only a small amount of product is used.

It is more likely for allergies and sensitivities to occur in clients who have been exposed to the product.

This means a client who has been having lash extensions for a while are more susceptible than a new client who has never had them before.

• You do not need to patch test for lash adhesive. However, you can have on 24-48 hours before your treatment if you have any concerns.

• It is important that you fully understand the potential risks involved with lash adhesive reactions so you can make an informed decision.

• A consultation form and patch test form must be carried out, documented and signed by both the client and the lash artist to confirm both parties understand and are happy to go ahead with the treatment, this will be sent prior to your treatment.

If you have had a reaction to lash adhesive at another salon I will not be able to carry out a treatment on you.

Once you have had a reaction your intolerance to the lash adhesive will only get worse unfortunately.

It's not necessary to give your lashes a break since your natural hair growth cycle occurs every six to eight weeks.

To keep your lashes looking their best, you should get refills every three to four weeks.

The stylist should pay close attention to your natural lashes. For instance, if the client's lashes have changed in texture or fullness, steps should be taken to adjust your styling accordingly.

Simply changing the type of lash extensions being used can make a big difference.

A change to the length or the width of the extensions, such as going with a thinner or shorter extension might be needed during the refill process.

There's no need for a break in between eyelash extensions if they're applied correctly.

Your eyelash extensions should not make your natural lashes fall out any faster than they would on their own.

• The first solution is applied this is used to break down the protein in the lashes because the lashes are moulded onto the shield, they will start to take shape.

• Next, the fixing solution is applied, which begins the process of restoring the lashes and conditioning them.

• Then tint is applied and then removed after desired time.

• The silicone pads are removed to reveal you beautifully lifted lashes.

Lash lifts will not damage your lashes if done properly.

Tinting is easy to change for every client, tints come in different shades and depending on the colour and thickness of your natural hair will determine the duration that the tint will be left on for.

24 hours prior to treatment

• Do not wear water-proof mascara (lash treatments only)

• If you have had a spray tan, ensure guide colour is washed off

On the Day of treatment

• Do not wear mascara (lash treatments only)

• Do not have a spray tan

• Avoid applying oily products on your lashes or around your eyes

• Contact lenses must be removed prior to the treatment, for this reason we recommend glasses are worn (lash treatments only)

• DO NOT get excessively wet for the first 24-48 hours. This allows the adhesive to cure (dry)

• DO NOT use steam rooms, saunas or sunbeds for 48 hours

• DO NOT perm, tint or use eyelash curlers

• DO NOT use waterproof or oil based mascara on your extensions as they contain chemical properties that will break down the adhesive

• DO be gentle around your eyes, don’t rub or pick at your extensions

• DO use an eyelash comb or mascara wand, these are great for grooming your lashes each morning

• DO gently wash daily with eyelash cleanser, keeping the root area clean.

Cleaning Eyelash Extensions

To clean your lashes as part of your aftercare you will need the following:

• Lash Cleanser (such as Purified Cleanser)

• Cleansing Brush (such as Cleansing Brush

• Tissue

• Mascara Wand

LASH-EXTENSION MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS

You need to understand that maintenance procedures are required to keep extend lashes looking thick, full and conditioned.

Infills should be carried out at least every 3 weeks for my lashes to look their best, if you leave it longer than 3 weeks you will require a longer maintenance appointment.

LASH EXTENSION REMOVAL REQUIREMENTS

If I require my lash extensions to be removed it should be carried out by a professional at the same salon they were applied at for the safest and most efficient lash removal.

• Be gentle with your lashes; no rubbing.

• Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hrs Do not use harsh products on your eyes/lashes.

• Use of Sauna/Steam is possible after 24hrs but may weaken the effect of the lift.

• No eye make up for 24 hours.

• Do not use eyelash curlers

• Avoid waterproof mascara's

• Swimming should be avoided for at least 24hrs.

• No other facial beauty treatments for 24hrs.

• Remember, the lash lift procedure is similar to a hair perm, and as such the hair must be kept well nourished and treated delicately to avoid breakage/weakening.

• Lash lifts will last 6-8 weeks depending on you hair growth.

• Do not rub the treated area.

• Avoid heat treatments for at least 24hrs.

• Avoid sunbathing for up to 24hrs, as this can cause the tint to fade

• Avoid swimming/ saunas and perfumed products for at least 24hrs after treatment.

• Please note that oil based make up remover can cause the tint to fade quicker.

• Exposure to sun/UV lights for long periods can cause the tint to fade quicker.

• Brow tinting results last around 2-4 weeks and lash tinting around 4-6 weeks
