At Map My Mole, your safety is our top priority. Our in-clinic service is designed to ensure that any mole or skin blemish you’re concerned about is expertly assessed and, if needed, safely removed. Here’s how the process works:

1. Consultation and Skin Mapping

You’ll meet with a trained skin specialist or clinician who will:

Take a full history of your concern (when you noticed the mole, changes, symptoms, etc.).

Examine the mole or blemish closely using a dermatoscope—a special magnifying device that helps visualize the structure beneath the skin.

Map and photograph the mole for detailed assessment and ongoing comparison, if needed.

Expert Dermatologist Review

Every case is reviewed by a dermatology consultant:

The high-resolution dermatoscopic image is securely sent to a dermatologist.

The specialist evaluates whether the mole appears benign (harmless), suspicious, or potentially cancerous.

You’ll receive a professional report with the dermatologist’s findings and recommendations.

Your Results and Next Steps

You’ll be informed of the results within a few days:

Benign moles: No treatment needed. You’ll be given advice on monitoring your skin going forward.

Suspicious moles: If removal is advised, contact your GP—either in-house or through referral to a dermatologist or minor surgery unit.

Urgent cases: If there are signs of skin cancer, you’ll be fast-tracked to appropriate care for further diagnosis and treatment with your GP for referral.

1. Advanced Electrolysis (Thermolysis or Electrocoagulation)

What it is: A highly targeted electrical current is used to cauterize and shrink the mole or skin lesion.

Best for: Small, raised, cosmetic moles or skin tags.

Benefits:

• Minimally invasive

• Little to no downtime

• Can be completed in one session

Considerations:

• May cause minor scabbing or redness

• Not suitable for larger or deeper moles

2. Shave Excision

What it is: The mole is carefully shaved flat to the skin’s surface using a surgical blade.
